The No.9 grill just continues to improve. We have visited this establishment once a week, on average, and it gets better and better. Lunch specials are not advertised so you have to ask what it is for the day. What's special about the special is its typically an item that's not on the menu. Dinner has always been good. I recommend their sirloin steak or salmon dinner. Yum yum! Great food, great prices, great atmosphere....not to mention great bartenders! This local highly recommends the No.9 grill in Cambridge City, Indiana.

Pretty good place. Love the interior design and TVs! Didn't have a very nice waitress but the food was good. Nice bar area.

I've never had a bad meal or bad service. It's a great place to eat and no one should have anything negative to say about this place.

Very good. Hubby had the Philly and it was fresh and delish. I had the fish sandwich and soup, amazing! Just wish there was bread or rolls.

The town is just a little bigger than the one I grew up in rural SE Ohio. Among nondescript antique shops is this really nice hometown family restaurant with brick walls and high ceilings that opened November '12. Our party of five ordered the BBQ chicken salad, garden salad, coleslaw, haddock, potato skins, Philly steak and salmon. I kept giving haddock samples away and should have ordered more. We were very pleased with the menu, service and atmosphere. Very Impressive for small town

Stopped for gas on the interstate but only options were fast food. Found this place on Yelp and definitely worth the 3 minute detour. Town is very cute, would be fun to antique shop here. Casual dress is fine. Kids had on tshirt and sweats from sports and they were fine. Staff wears jeans and Tshirts. Don't let the sports bar notation throw you off if you have kids. It is a normal restaurant seating and no smoking. Had loaded waffle potatoes with cheddar cheese, green onions, bacon and sour cream. Just as good as the ones at home on Texas! Son had Philly cheese steak sandwich. Said it was really good. Hubbie ordered breaded tenderloin sandwich, daughter and I split one. You have to eat half the meat before you can even begin the sandwich portion, it is that big! All of us are stuffed and none of us finished our meals. Definitely would stop here again. Very satisfied!

Better than chain restaurants and their filet is better than St Elmo's in indy. I eat here every chance I get; It's that good. The staff here is friendly but get here early for dinner as the wait can get up to an hour.

We drive over to Cambridge after visiting the Wayne County fair. First time. We'll come back. The atmosphere is nice with wood and exposed brick. Not too many beers on tap, no IPA for me tonight. But the service was quick. Smoked pork chop was good. GF's chicken strips were good. The sides are a bit institutional if you know what I mean. Mac n cheese was bland and cole slaw was swimming. Go for the onion straws. Not a huge menu, but covers the bases. Nice place for a small town.

Cute place. Food was mediocre at best. I had the salmon and had zero flavor. Steamed broccoli was mush and has been steamed and reheated in the microwave. Hubby had burger. Was a frozen type patty vs a nice fresh patty. Waitress never asked us "how the food was ". I have a gluten allergy and she had no clue what gluten was.

Other than the hostess playing with her hair the entire time and it is long. Ugh. And why is it sometimes you get bread and other times you don't. Hmmmm

On my travels, ended up in a quaint little town with a small town feel and real friendly people. 60miles east of Indianapolis or about 60 miles west of Dayton lies a really good restaurant. I stopped for lunch and with my party of 9 were able to sample all the burgers and selections. The food was really good and the price was great as well. Nestled on state route 40, so if traveling and need to stop for lunch give them a try- I think you will be happy.

Lovely historic spot for a restaurant. They did an amazing job remodeling the place. Came here for lunch and the experience was great. Lovely lunch menu at reasonable prices. The food was good and the portions were pretty hefty. I like the open feel of the place.

It's nice to see a new, locally-owned restaurant doing so well. I've been to No. 9 several times and it's never not been busy. It is situated in an old grocery store, although you'd never know it. Everything has been impeccably designed and decorated. I've tried several things on the menu, which is pretty standard for this area of the world. My favorite by far is the Blues Burger - topped with bleu cheese and bacon. Their burgers are fresh and the buns are excellent. The Cajun Shrimp pasta is decent. For kids, the Mac & Cheese is tasty, but maybe a bit gourmet. The last time we dined in, our friends' three-year-old was very disturbed that it wasn't of the Kraft Easy Mac variety. Oh, and their chocolate caramel cake serves like four people, easy. Most of the time, our service has been okay, if not a little slow. There are tons of servers running around at any given time, but they all seem to be slightly confused. I got takeout tonight and while the food was up to par, the service bordered on craptastic. First off, the guy who took my order over the phone told me that there was no way I could get a burger by itself (I didn't really want or need the side) because that's not how it was programmed in the computer ordering system. Okay, fine. He was very nice about it, at least. When I arrived to pick my order up, I was told by the girl at the hostess stand that I could get it at the bar. I felt a little weird about carrying my two-year-old in there with me, but whatever. I stood around for a bit until a server walked by and gave me a short "Takeout?" as a greeting. I nodded in the affirmative and she went to the back, presumably to get it for me. When she returned, she slapped the check down on the bar and walked away. I got my debit card out to pay for it. She grabbed it on her next trip through and told me that it would be a few minutes. No thank you, no smile, nothing. Geez. I know what it's like to be busy, but it's not my fault that Susie called in and Larry is slow getting the steaks out, or whatever else is causing you to have your shorts in a wad. At any rate, despite some hiccups, No. 9 is a decent place to get a decent sit-down meal in the immediate area.

Worst wait staff EVER. 16 year old girls who have never been to a decent restaurant in their lives might need some training... Do you have a beer list? Uhhhhh..... Do you have specials? Dunno. How much are the specials? Dunno. Will you check on us after the food is served? Nope. Will you clear the plates away when we are done? Not a chance. Will you offer us dessert? Nope. Refill our glasses or offer more beer? Why would I think to do that? Will you bring us our check after we have pushed away our dirty plates? Nope. Will I be back? Doubt it. Standard bar food (but no sweet potato fries), comfy atmosphere. Nothing much in the way of vegetarian options, though it has been repeatedly requested that bean burger become a regular item on the menu.

What is with all these places that refuse to cook a hamburger below medium? Even some so called steak houses mess with their customers in that manner? Finally after biting the waitresourous's head off by stating, "Is the reason you can't cook your ground beef medium rare that your meat is suspect or you use low quality meat and you don't want to poison your customer? Is this a steak house or a fast food chain? I did get my medium rare, by the way, and it was very decent and quite good. My companion ordered the haddock fillets, and they were Hoosier deep fried, not golden but brown. I suppose I should be grateful that a small town like that can boast a nice dinner place. Wouldn't it be nicer if it had more friendly people and fewer stupid rules so they could concentrate on putting out excellent food?

A busy place even at 1pm, Hamburger had great flavor & done to perfection, Suz had fish, no complaints on flavor. Now the bad: Both of us didn't eat the top off the bun, way too much bread and was a little tough. Cole slaw had too much dressing for our taste, I love onion straws & these had good flavor but not at room temp.

I have to agree with Josh G - nice decor (Pottery Barn), limited menu, good service and food. The lunch menu is a horse of a different color. Skip this offering entirely and order from the dinner selection. Took a colleague to No. 9 for lunch and was completely disappointed if not irritated. Items are listed at $6.99 with one side. I ordered the BBQ chicken salad and was presented with a 1/2 c. of greens in a small, shallow, large rimmed bowel with BBQ chicken. The chicken was excellent but the portion was the equivalent of a side salad. Seven dollars for this?? I could have ordered the shrimp dinner, baked potato and same side sans the chicken for $2.00 more. When I questioned the server about the salad she informed me it was 1/2 size (at apparently full price). No crackers, no bread. Sensing my dissatisfaction she brought me a mini dinner roll, fresh from the Sunshine box at Kroger where you pay $.99 for 12. The lunch items are a rip-off. With tip I paid $27.00 for iceburg lettuce.and my colleague's turkey sandwich. Bleh.

I was extremely impressed with this restaurant from the decor, service, and the food. It is your typical sports bar and grill with flat screens everywhere and a full bar. I especially like the booths and seating. They have plenty of room and it has been spread out so you aren't cramped or over crowded at all. Our service was quick and attentive. The menu is slightly limited. your basic variety of burgers and steaks and sandwiches. I noticed the salads were huge and loaded with everything. My father ordered the rib-eye and was very satisfied and already wants to go back for another. Everyone's burgers were cooked well and juicy. I had the cajun shrimp pasta and it had a nice kick to it and not too heavy. It is a very nice addition to the area, and will be returning for sure!

Finding good restaurants in rural Indiana communities is often a challenge. Especially ones with great ambiance, decor, and a non-dineresque menu. However, the No. 9 Grill is a great addition to the downtown of Cambridge City. Step inside this historic building and you will find a wide open first floor, with large booths and tables, with a bar in the back. Even though we had a little bit of a wait on a busy Saturday night, it was great to see a new local business thriving in a rural community. The menu. Some typical appetizers and meals, but some unique items as well. I enjoyed the cajun pasta dish which had some unique flavor and was very filling. The portion sizes were substantive and the prices were affordable.

Great ambiance, nice rehab of a stately old building, but loud. The fried foods (potato wedges, waffle fries, onion strings) were greasy and over cooked. The Cajun penne shrimp pasta was good. They were a little stingy with the shrimp though. We were there on a Saturday and they were very busy. All in all I'll return.

We ate at this place within the first month it opened. Recommended by my boss. Very nice place. I ordered a steak and she ordered a pasta dish. Both dishes were good. Plus we got the fried pickles, like we do anywhere that has them, they also were very tasty. Nice little selection of beers to boot. Been meaning to get back there for another supper.

Awesome food, great service, kid friendly! I had the filet, hubs had the New York strip, baby had the mac and cheese and a huge sweet potato. All were delicious and the atmosphere was a bonus. We were really surprised how fast our food came out. Its nice to see such a quality place close to home!
